Hard test to close a demanding week visiting Baskonia’s court
Valencia Basket closes a demanding start to the year with their third game in six days to visit the Baskonia court (Sunday 7, 6:30 p.m., Fernando Buesa Arena, #0) in a match in which a taronja triumph would certify mathematically the ticket for the Copa del Rey. A classification that could be closed even before the initial jump of this game if there are a series of results that confirm the final classification to the KO tournament. The taronja squad wants to take advantage of the moral pull of their three victories in the last four games and especially the energy derived from the comeback in the Unicaja’s court to try to assault the court where Valencia Basket have the worst percentage of victories in the Endesa League, although the taronja squad has won in Vitoria in two of her last three visits.
Point guard Sergi Garcia will travel for the first time with the team since he arrived from Zaragoza, although he only made one practice with the team. On the bad side, the accumulation of minutes as a result of the short rotation makes Erick Green and Damjan Rudez travel with discomfort and are questionable for this game. The other five occupants of the infirmary remain in Valencia (Fernando San Emeterio, Guillem Vives, Joan Sastre, Antoine Diot, Latavious Williams). Valencia Basket currently occupies the third position in the Endesa League, with a balance of 10-4.
